Peristaltic Pumps
Peristaltic pumps handle abrasive, solids-laden, and high-viscosity fluids. No valves, no impellers, and no seals in the flow path; flow rates up to 300 m³/h.
Overview
FLUX peristaltic pumps handle abrasive, solids-laden, and highly viscous fluids up to 20,000 mPas, with flow rates up to 300 m³/h and pressures up to 10 bar. The fluid comes into contact only with the hose—no valves, impellers, or seals in the flow path. Nine sizes, ranging from FHP-10 to FHP-200, cover the entire performance spectrum.

Hose materials
| MATERIAL | RESISTANCE | TYPICAL MEDIA |
|---|---|---|
| NRH (natural rubber) | Very high abrasion resistance. Resistant to diluted acids, alkalis and alcohols. | Slurry, drilling mud and media containing solids |
| NBR (Buna-N) | Very high resistance to oils, greases and alkalis. Good mechanical properties. | Waste oil, heavy fuel oil and olive oil |
| EPDM | Good resistance to chemicals, concentrated acids and alkalis. | Vinegar, sulphuric acid (50%), potassium hydroxide, cleaning agents, citric acid and sodium hydroxide |
Housing Materials
| MATERIAL | RECOMMENDED APPLICATION |
|---|---|
| Polyurethane | Standard housing for FHP-10 and FHP-15. High wear resistance and a good price-performance ratio. |
| Carbon steel | Powder-coated standard housing for FHP-25 to FHP-50. Galvanised steel housing as standard from FHP-65. Suitable for higher mechanical loads and industrial applications. |
| Stainless steel | Available as an option from FHP-25. Suitable for hygienically sensitive areas and chemically aggressive environments. |
Accessories
| ACCESSORY | FUNCTION | AVAILABLE FROM |
|---|---|---|
| Pulsation dampener | Evens out the flow, reduces pressure peaks and improves dosing accuracy. | All pump sizes |
| Hose rupture sensor | Detects hose damage and shuts down the pump. This increases system safety and prevents product leakage. | FHP-25 |
| Variable frequency drive | Provides precise speed and flow control for flexible adjustment to operating conditions. | All pump sizes |
| Control unit | Enables direct pump control and supports efficient operating processes. | All pump sizes |
| Vacuum pump | Creates a vacuum inside the housing and increases suction lift from 5 to 9 mWC. | FHP-100 |
| Higher motor power | Uses a reinforced gearbox and increases the maximum discharge pressure to 10 bar. | FHP-100 |
Mining
For abrasive slurries such as slurry made from clay, lime, or mineral raw materials. Only the hose comes into contact with the medium. This simplifies maintenance and reduces downtime.

Paper Industry
Conveys fibrous and challenging media in the paper manufacturing process. The peristaltic pump principle ensures gentle and uniform conveyance. The system remains easy to control even when handling different media.

Chemistry
For demanding chemical media requiring high resistance. The appropriate hose material is selected based on the medium, concentration, and temperature. This ensures that the transfer process remains safe and controllable.

Food & Beverages
For viscous, sensitive, or chunky media in hygienic processes. The hoses are available in FDA-compliant materials. The medium remains inside the hose and does not come into contact with other pump parts.

Function and Design of FLUX Peristaltic Pumps
The FLUX peristaltic pump operates as a self-priming rotary positive-displacement pump. A rotor with two opposing POM rollers squeezes a flexible hose, thereby generating the flow. The fluid comes into contact only with the hose—there are no valves, impellers, or seals in the flow path.
Since the flow rate depends solely on speed and pump size—not on viscosity or solids content—the throughput can be precisely controlled via a variable-frequency drive.
Hose material, pump head, and drive can be combined
Nine sizes, ranging from FHP-10 to FHP-200, cover flow rates from 330 l/h to 300 m³/h.
- Self-priming & dry-run protection: No priming required, safe dry-run operation—ready for immediate use
- Gentle pumping: Low-shear displacement—media structure remains intact
- Low-maintenance: Hose is the only wear part; replacement takes minutes without special tools
- Performance specifications: Up to 300 m³/h, up to 10 bar, up to 20,000 mPas

How does the roller principle work?
The roller principle is the basis of the FLUX hose pump: A rotor with two opposing rollers rotates inside the housing, sequentially compressing the flexible hose.
- As the rotor rotates, the first roller comes into contact with the hose and compresses it. This compression creates a separation between the suction and discharge sides
- A vacuum is created on the suction side, which draws in the fluid. As soon as the second roller compresses the hose, a hermetically sealed chamber is formed between the two rollers. As the rotor rotates, the fluid is conveyed through this specific chamber toward the outlet. The rollers move along the hose, pushing the fluid inside the hose toward the outlet.
- When the roller is released from the hose, the hose relaxes, returns to its original shape, and the fluid is discharged on the discharge side. This cycle repeats continuously, thereby conveying the fluid.
